HAPPY WEEKEND!
What a busy week we had! Students were so excited this week to do an experiment with magnets. They learned all about magnets and that they have opposite poles, and that they attract but can also push away. They had to test a bunch different objects and decide if they were magnetic or not. They were also able to go around the room and test different things as well. They also worked hard in all content areas. As the end of the school year creeps up we need to make sure we are staying focused on continuing our school work the best we can! Please make sure to return permission slips for the field trip and library books! Students also enjoyed all their specials this week make sure you ask them about the games they played, songs they sung, and words their learned in Spanish! |

WritingThis week students were able to start writing narrative stories again. They were able to write about things that they have actually done and actually experienced. We talked about how as almost first grade writers they need to make sure they have finger spaces and periods at the end of their sentences. We also went over what it means and looks like to write a sentence. Students worked extremely hard on their stories this week. We also took some time to write in our end of the year memory book about our upcoming summer plans!

MathThis week in math students returned to doing workplaces after a short break last week. Students were comparing numbers, adding, subtracting, and counting. Students practiced telling their own story problems as well. We continue to work on partner games that include adding and subtracting. We had to go over our rules of games and how to treat a partner. All of these game playing skills are so important for them!
